Countryside Properties and Oldham Council launch The Triangle3 August 2011
Councillor David Hibbert, Cabinet Member for Housing, Transport and Regeneration joined residential developer, Countryside Properties to mark the official launch of affordable housing development, The Triangle, on Copsterhill Road in Hathershaw.
The event marked the unveiling of the collection of three and four bedroom detached and semi-detached homes, jointly funded by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and Countryside Properties.
Joined by members from Oldham Council and representatives from the Homes and Community Agency (HCA), the event marked the formation of a partnership between Countryside Properties and the council, which aims to boost the availability of high quality and affordable homes in Oldham.
The first phase will see the construction of 92 new homes at The Triangle, 30 of which will be available through social housing, funded by the HCA. Owned and managed by Countryside Properties’ development partner, Great Places Housing Group, these homes will be available through affordable rent or shared ownership.
A further 62 houses will be available on the open market through Countryside Properties’ Shared Equity scheme. Aiming to give first time buyers a helping hand onto the property ladder, the initiative allows buyers to own 100% of their property whilst only paying for 85%. For a three-bedroom home priced at full market value of £142,500, buyers need only find a 5% deposit of £7,125 and a mortgage for £121,125*.
