RADITIONAL HOMES FOR FABULOUS NEW YEAR4 February 2014

House-hunters dreaming of a brand new home in the New Year that has the charm of traditional architecture can make can make this a reality by choosing a home at Great Oaks at Wickhurst Green, in Broadbridge Heath, near Horsham, West Sussex. Traditional architecture consistently comes out top among the British public - a YouGov poll showed that over three quarters of us prefer traditional styles over contemporary buildings. Combining the aesthetic appeal of a traditionally designed house with all of the comfort and added extras of a new build, Countryside Properties has a range of beautiful family homes at Great Oaks available now to move into in the New Year.

The five-bedroom Langridge is a perfect example of the traditional style new build home that ticks all the boxes for family living. Its red brick exterior, pitched roof and dormer windows echo the local vernacular and reflect the traditional character that most people prefer, yet it is built to the highest standards of modern construction incorporating eco technology to make this type of home on average 6.5 times more energy efficient than one built just 30 years ago. Compared to a period property, the result is a cosy and much less draughty place to enjoy the festive season, costing a fraction to heat.

Andrew Loveday, Sales and Marketing Director of Countryside Properties comments: “People who love traditional architecture but who want all of the convenience and efficiency of a new home will discover the best of both worlds by choosing a home from Countryside Properties at Great Oaks.  The Langridge offers ideal space and flexibility for families, and with properties ready to move into in the New Year, you can celebrate the New Year with moving into your new home.”

Great Oaks is part of Wickhurst Green, a modern village on the edge of Broadbridge Heath.  The new village is carefully designed to offer all of the amenities and facilities for daily living, including a new primary school, a proposed doctor’s surgery, allotments and a pub and family restaurant, all of which will help foster a strong and vibrant community spirit.

Helping to create an attractive and leafy village scene that blends with the beautiful surrounding Sussex countryside, extensive landscaped areas are being created, including planting, ponds and mature trees. For informal recreation, new village greens will provide a focal point. Outdoor facilities for sports and recreation are integral to the plans, so residents will be able to make use of two large play areas and several sports fields and courts, and a network of footpaths and cycle ways encourage people to get out and enjoy the great outdoors.

Ideal for family get-togethers, the three-storey Langridge house has plenty of space for guests to stay as well as generous space for entertaining. Its light and airy kitchen / dining room offers ample space for Christmas dinners, while the spacious living room has double French doors leading out to the garden ensuring it is bright even on dark winter days. Five bedrooms, as well as three bathrooms and a downstairs cloakroom, mean it is easy to accommodate extra family members, and a double garage provides useful extra storage space.

Designed to an excellent specification, all properties at Great Oaks include ceramic floor tiling and fully fitted kitchens with gloss finished wall units, stone worktops and a range of integrated appliances including oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher, with a separate washing machine in the downstairs cupboard.  The bathrooms include sleek white bathroom suites with chrome fittings, ceramic wall and floor tiling and heated towel rail. The homes are fully wired for Sky+ and fibre optic broadband making it easy for residents to get connected.

Conveniently located for commuters, Wickhurst Green is just two miles from Horsham from where there are regular trains to London in under an hour. By road, the A24 provides direct access into London to the north and to the south coast in just 40 minutes. There are regular bus services from Broadbridge Heath to surrounding villages and towns and a new bus service and bus stops are proposed to connect Wickhurst Green directly with Horsham town centre and railway station.

COUNTRYSIDE BRINGS TRADITIONAL ENGLISH INTERIORS TO GREAT OAKS15 July 2013

Taking inspiration from the local area and landscape creates an inviting interior for prospective homebuyers, which is just what The Open Door company achieved at the new show home for Countryside Properties at Great Oaks in Broadbridge Heath, near Horsham, West Sussex.

Camilla Johnson, Interior Designer at The Open Door Company explains: “Initially we looked at the location to get an insight to the area before designing the show home - it is an impressive rural location, with pretty oak trees and foliage, ideal for young families to live in. We set about choosing a palette of pale greens and warm oaks to compliment the surroundings.  The light and airy country elegance is themed throughout the open plan living area, whereby we sourced bespoke furniture to highlight the different areas of the space.  For example we created a room divider near the kitchen, which we pictured young children eating dinner at the table, but sectioned off a more elegant and sophisticated dining area for adults to enjoy, towards the rear. The Velux window brings in a lot of light so we mirrored that with metallic accessories on the dining table spread.”

Camilla continues: “The theme very much stemmed from the grand Oak tree outside, so even the wallpaper held similar patterns of nature, with butterflies and trees playing a prominent part in the fabrics and wallpaper. We imagined each family member enjoying their bedrooms as their own personal space as they should, so we tailored each room to fit their needs. The master bedroom was designed to be luxurious. The sumptuous ottoman in the dressing area shows homebuyers that this bedroom area is a rare and stylish space. We imagined an active young boy living in the other bedroom, so we have kept the English theme going with traditional sports such as rugby and cricket emblems in the design.”

Camilla concludes: “The study to us was very much intended to be for the man of the house to have his own space. So we included a gentleman check pattern, again to keep it traditionally designed. On the second floor, there is a large fourth bedroom and en suite, in which we used a neutral palette, with opulent floral pillows and pale white furnishings. Overall, we wanted the home to create an atmosphere of calm and to appeal to buyers who are aspiring to live in an elegant home. We hope that prospective buyers viewing this showhome agree!”

Designed to an excellent specification, all properties at Great Oaks include ceramic floor tiling and fully fitted kitchens with gloss finished wall units, contrasting worktops and a range of integrated appliances including oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher, with a separate washing machine in the downstairs cupboard.   The bathrooms include white sanitary ware with chrome fittings, ceramic wall and floor tiling and heated towel rail.

Offering a perfect environment for children to explore the great outdoors and parents to unwind after a busy day and enjoy some exercise, there is a network of footpaths and cycle ways running throughout the development and across the landscaped green areas and open space.

Great Oaks is a part of Wickhurst Green, an extension to the existing village of Broadbridge Heath and will provide range of new local amenities including shops, a proposed doctor’s surgery, a pub and family restaurant.  There will also be a new primary school with playing fields, several sports pitches with parking, allotments, pavilion and social facilities, alongside two large play areas designed for a range of age groups.
