Countryside Properties is to redevelop the 25 acre site of the former Carrington Wire factory off Battersby Lane in Warrington into an exciting new urban quarter.
The former factory site will be transformed into Carrington Park, a large mixed-use development which will include a residential area encompassing traditional style houses, a low-rise apartment complex, a children's play area and large open spaces and gardens. The development will also feature a small business park for light industrial (business) premises.
Central to the new residential development will be an attractive tree-lined boulevard, which will pass from Battersby Lane through to a large, communal garden for residents' use. Countryside Properties will also be investing £6.5 million in the revitalisation of the area surrounding Battersby Lane.
Carrington Park will include a range of traditional and contemporary properties to appeal to first-time buyers , young professionals and growing families, and will offer 1 and 2 bedroom apartments, 3 and 4 bedroom townhouses, 4 bedroom semi-detached and 4 bedroom detached houses.
Warrington's vibrant town centre is situated just a quarter of a mile from Carrington Park, so residents will benefit from excellent shopping, leisure and transport facilities close by.
There are four large supermarkets and a retail park near to the site, in addition to the high street stores, restaurants and bars within Warrington town centre. There are also five schools within just half a mile of the site.
One of the most impressive nearby facilities is Warrington's Victoria Park, which spans 67 acres and offers a variety of sporting and leisure facilities from athletics to skateboarding.
Carrington Park has excellent transport links with two train stations, serving most major regional routes, within half a mile of the site. It is also less than 3 miles away from the M6 and M62 motorways, making it perfect for those working in Warrington or in the nearby cities of Manchester, Liverpool and Chester, which are all within 20 miles drive.
Michaela Lancaster, Sales Director of Countryside Properties (Northern) commented, "We have been involved in urban regeneration to promote sustainable communities for more than 20 years. As a Warrington-based company, we are naturally committed to the town and would like to use our expertise and track record to its advantage.
"Over the past few years, the Battersby Lane area of Warrington, which was once the heart of the town's industrial past, has become neglected. This new development will breathe life back into the area, making it an attractive and pleasant place to live and work.
"One of our past projects, Winwick Park in Warrington, saw the transformation of a former hospital site (over 45 acres) into a stunning residential development of new Georgian-style houses, complete with play areas and set within leafy parkland. It is now one of the most desirable places to live in Cheshire, and is home to a thriving new community.
"We believe that the beautiful homes and stunning surroundings at Carrington Park will attract a new population to the area, which will revitalise and enhance it. The development's commercial scheme will also create new employment and business opportunities for people living in the area."
