NEW URBAN QUARTER FOR WARRINGTON
Countryside begins transformation at Carrington Park

Warrington’s town centre is undergoing major change.  Its former industrial area just off Battersby Lane, formerly the site of the Carrington Wire/Rylands factory, part of the town’s wire manufacturing heritage, is now being transformed by Countryside Properties into Carrington Park, an exciting, new mixed-use development over 25 acres.

Residential development is leading the way with the provision of 388 new homes for the town which will offer traditional style housing and a low rise apartment complex set in leafy parkland with a children’s play area, public open spaces and communal gardens.  The development will also include a small business park for light industrial (business) premises.

Central to the new residential community will be an attractive tree-lined boulevard which will pass from Battersby Lane through to a large, communal garden for residents’ use.  Additionally Countryside Properties will be investing £6.5 million in improvements which will revitalise the surrounding area.

Homes will be available at Carrington Park for a wide range of purchasers from first-time buyers to growing families who can choose from one and two bedroom apartments, three and four bedroom townhouses, four bedroom semi-detached and detached houses.

Just a quarter of a mile from the growing retail and leisure attractions of Warrington town centre, this new development provides future residents with excellent shopping, educational and transport facilities close by.

Less than three miles away from the M6 and M62 motorways, Carrington Park is ideal for those working in the nearby cities of Manchester, Liverpool and Chester, which are all within a 20 mile radius.

Carrington Park’s benefits to the local market are many according to Countryside Properties (Northern) Sales Director Michaela Lancaster:  “We have been involved in urban regeneration to create sustainable communities for more than twenty years and this site allows us to use that wealth of experience and expertise to the full.

“Once the heart of Warrington’s industrial past, the Battersby Lane area has fallen into neglect.  It presented us with a challenge but as a locally based company with a strong track record of delivery at both Winwick Park and Trinity Green in the town, it was a challenge that  we were determined to rise to.

“One of our past projects here at Winwick Park saw the complete transformation of a former hospital site over 45 acres into a stunning, highly acclaimed residential community which is now one of the most sought-after places to live in Cheshire.

“We are confident that Carrington Park will repeat this success, emerging as an area of the town that attracts a new population as well as satisfies local demand for homes of a high standard in attractive surroundings close to Warrington’s centre. As importantly, the commercial scheme will create new employment and business opportunities for people living in this area.”
