Show Apartment Leads to Sales Success

Date of issue: 17th March 2008

Sales have exceeded all expectations at Countryside Maritime’s extraordinary new homes development, The Fishing Village, St Mary’s Island, Chatham Maritime, in Kent. Almost one third of the properties released for sale have been sold following a launch weekend and the opening of a striking new show apartment recently.

Suzanne Hunt, Head of Sales and Marketing for Countryside Maritime, comments: “Show homes play an incredibly important role as they help purchasers visualise what it could be like to live there. The newly opened show apartment at Malin House, the latest phase of The Fishing Village, has really caught the imagination of visitors.  It has helped the continued success of our development on St Mary’s Island and demonstrates the fabulous views across the River Medway enjoyed by most of the apartments at the Fishing Village. The Fishing Village and our other development on the Island, Ventura Riverside, continue to see high visitor levels which are testament to the combination of the unique, peaceful location, along with the contemporary designed, well built homes for which Countryside Maritime is renowned.”

The Fishing Village comprises large one and two bedroom contemporary apartments, most with stunning views directly over the River Medway. Architecture is inspired by the Island’s surroundings and uses distinctive roof elevations, contemporary glazing and coloured weatherboarding to create eye-catching properties inspired by traditional Kentish fishing villages.

Developed as a joint venture between Countryside Properties and SEEDA (the South East England Development Agency), the houses and apartments on St Mary’s Island have been designed and built for sustainability and have enviable green credentials. The latest phase of the Fishing Village is being built to an EcoHomes rating of ‘Very Good’ while the other Countryside Maritime development currently for sale on the Island, Ventura Riverside, is being built to achieve an EcoHomes Rating of ‘Excellent’, the most eco friendly development on the Island so far. These ratings offer the benefits of reduced running costs through greater energy and water efficiency.

St Mary’s Island is located off the A289 and is approximately one mile north of Chatham town centre. The M25 and A2 are also easily accessible. There are frequent train services to London Victoria from Chatham with a journey time of approximately 44* minutes.

Prices at The Fishing Village start at £165,000 for a one bedroom apartment while prices at Ventura Riverside start from £249,950 for a three bedroom house.
