Apartments at Urban Island adjacent to the Three Mills Island in Bromley-by-Bow currently being developed by Countryside Properties Plc, simply ooze space. The two bedroom apartments are a massive 1,180 sq ft, 78% higher than the average two bedroom apartment in London of 650 sq ft.  The one bedroom apartments also offer up to 713 sq ft.

The apartments at Urban Island are not only spacious, but also have a high standard of internal design in keeping with the striking architecture.  Each apartment also has its own outside space with either a balcony or a terrace overlooking the river and views towards Canary Wharf.

Three Mills Island is also home to the oldest mill in Britain and the only Grade I listed cobbled street in the country.  Three Mills Studios, where many current TV dramas are shot and Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels was filmed, is adjacent to Urban Island apartments, bringing a creative buzz to the island.

Mr Devas was the first purchaser at this exciting new development and he says: “I found Urban Island purely by chance, I wasn’t even looking to move, but when I stumbled across the beautiful historic part of East London, I couldn’t resist.  The riverside location was a real seller for me, but I also visited other developments by Countryside Properties which confirmed my decision, the interior design is exciting and met all my expectations.

“I have my own small production company called Archipelago TV, so being situated next to Three Mills Studios is ideal for me.  I am actually going to rent some space within the old Clock Tower for my own studio.”

The show apartment at Urban Island gives a preview of the high standard of specification, including solid sliding partitions between living areas and some bedrooms, offering versatile options for the use of the space.  The contemporary living areas have hardwood oak timber strip flooring and recessed ceiling lights; the simplistically styled bathrooms offer Bocino wash basins, chrome accessories, walnut effect units, large showers and mosaic tiles. There are two bathrooms in all the two bedroom apartments.   The kitchens are also comprehensively designed and fitted with stainless steel appliances.

The communal areas are full of light from the extensive use of glazing throughout the development.  Apartments benefit from lifts to all floors from the basement parking level where residents have the option to purchase secure underground parking.   As well as each apartment having its own outside space, there is also a landscaped roof garden for communal use, designed by renowned landscape designer, David Fountain.

Prices for the apartments range from £225,000 to £400,000.  The marketing suite is open daily from 10am – 5pm including Bank Holidays and can be contacted on 0208 215 3377.   Alternatively, visit the dedicated website at www.urbanisland.gb.com or email ltg@cpplc.com.
