A brand new home from Countryside Maritime is on average 6.5 times more energy efficient than a home that was built some 30 years ago, according to experts at the Building Research Establishment. With green credentials playing an increasingly important role in the minds of many new purchasers, the new homes at St Mary’s Island, Chatham Maritime, Kent, will appeal for more than just their tranquil waterside location.
Two exciting new developments at the award winning St Mary’s Island will launch this summer, both with fabulous waterside locations on the marina and the River Medway. The new phases of this development have been aptly named ‘The Sail Loft’ and ‘Riverside Quarter’ and according to the developers, Countryside Maritime (a joint venture between Countryside Properties and SEEDA (South East England Development Agency), the sales team have already received an influx of enquiries from very interested buyers. Additional support for the development was provided through the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) which provided £6.93 million of Kickstart funding.
Chris Crook, Subsidiary Managing Director of Countryside Properties, comments: “St Mary’s Island, Chatham Maritime is one of the most idyllic and scenic locations to purchase property in the South East. Both The Sail Loft and Riverside Quarter are ideal developments to live at; not only because of their serene waterside surroundings, but also due to the quality workmanship and high eco ratings of the properties. We are proud to say the homes at the Riverside Quarter will achieve a Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4. In keeping with the local style, we’ve incorporated traditional Kentish-style architecture, with a contemporary design to present an outstanding collection of new homes.”
Fronting a 300-berth marina, The Sail Loft features one and two bedroom apartments, a limited number of two bedroom houses and beautiful three storey four bedroom family homes on the waters edge. Many of the properties feature either balconies or terraces to ensure that residents are able to further enjoy their magnificent surroundings.
Riverside Quarter, with views over the River Medway, offers one and two bedroom apartments and two and three bedroom houses.
Properties in both developments offer spacious accommodation with contemporary fixtures and fittings. Sleek, modern kitchens incorporate energy efficient, fully integrated appliances including electric ovens with hob, washer/dryer, fridge/freezer and microwave. Open plan living areas with large windows and balconies to most homes provide spectacular views.
St Mary’s Island is located off the A289 and is approximately one mile north of Chatham town centre. The M25 and A2 are easily accessible and there are now frequent train services to London St Pancras from Ebbsfleet International with a rapid journey time of approximately 17 minutes.*
The sales and marketing office will open this summer with guide prices starting from £150,000 to £400,000. For further information please visit: www.stmarysisland.uk.com
