For brother and sister, Kim (23), a trainee Tax Advisor and Nik Brandmuller (22), a Construction Supervisor, purchasing their own homes had proved difficult in the current market
So they decided to club together to strengthen and speed up their buying potential, which soon meant their first home became an affordable reality.
Kim and Nik’s joint purchasing power meant they could afford to buy a stylish two bedroom apartment at Springhead Park in Ebbsfleet Valley, North Kent with joint developers Countryside Properties and Land Securities offering to pay their 5% deposit.
Kim comments: “We were both itching to get on the property ladder but neither of us could afford to buy our own place, especially since Nik has only recently started working.
Nik and I have always got on really well, so it made sense that we joined forces and agreed to buy a property together, otherwise we would both still be living at home with our parents or throwing our money away renting. We were able to combine our money to come up with a 5% deposit and it also meant that we could get a larger mortgage enabling us to afford the spacious, penthouse apartment that was on offer at Springhead Park.”
Springhead Park will provide a mixture of one and two bedroom apartments together with two, three and four bedroom homes close to Ebbsfleet International station.
Kim continues: “When we decided to buy somewhere together we looked at older properties, but we found the second bedrooms in the traditional terraced houses were usually box rooms, which was no good to us. At Springhead Park we were immediately struck by the fact that it had a second bathroom and two equally sized bedrooms. It really is the perfect development for sharers.”
