THERE are more signs of optimism from one of the country's best new homebuilders.
Countryside Properties started work on five of its sites across Greater Manchester this month, on schemes that will bring 500 new properties to the region in a growing mood of confidence.
And they have just released the first dozen homes for sale at their Spinning Vale site at Gorton.
This plot was originally earmarked for apartments but they responded to market demands, went back to the planners and are now building a mix of two and three bedroom properties.
They are aimed squarely at first time buyers with an 85 per cent shared equity deal meaning you can get a two bedroom house for £85,000 and only need a deposit of £4,250.
These are pretty funky properties with an extra chunk on the back of the ground floor which dramatically increases the living space. They have also upped their standard specification so the houses include all flooring and an integrated washer/dryer in the glossy kitchen and fitted wardrobes in the master bedroom.

This is Countryside Properties' own shared equity deal, and you can get a three bedroom home for £106,250 for an 85 percent share through the scheme.

It also gets you over the 20 per cent deposit stumbling block being demanded by most lenders which would have meant having to find £20,000 to put down.
The remaining 15 per cent is covered by Countryside Properties and no rent to pay or interest to pay on the share for ten years.
In addition to Gorton, they are launching two new developments in Heywood – Copper Wells and Merchants Gate –and Oakwood Reach, Stalybridge has been brought back to life.
The next phase of the flagship regeneration scheme New Broughton, Salford is underway with the new show homes due to open at the end of the month. Martin Leggett, regional sales director at Countryside Properties said: "Now is a great time to get our new developments underway, particularly as we have seen an increased appetite from buyers across the region.
