Such was the chalk and cheese divide between Chiswick and South Acton in the west of London that a railway line passing between the two areas was known by residents of the latter as their “Berlin Wall”.

Thanks to one of the largest regeneration projects in London spearheaded by Countryside and its partners L&Q and Ealing Council, that wall is now being torn down.

A Housing Design Award winning new development known as Acton Gardens is replacing 1,800 properties with 2,500 new homes and is transforming the reputation of the area.
