The Division has focused on expanding its land portfolio in the East of England, its core area of operation, as well as making good headway in generating opportunities to increase the Group’s exposure across Essex and the wider Home Counties.
The opportunities secured by Countryside will provide up to 17 new sales outlets across 15 new sites with units forecast for delivery from 2015, providing a good platform of future housing supply. These include sites in Chelmsford and Brentwood.
Adding to this success, terms have been agreed subject to contract and planning, for a further 14 sites which could accommodate an additional 3,000 new homes.
Graham Cherry, Chief Executive of Countryside, commented: “We have made a series of important acquisitions during 2013 allowing us to continue to expand as per our strategy and adding the potential for 5,040 new homes to our pipeline. We have one of the strongest land portfolios in our sector relative to our output, which we are looking to further strengthen over the coming months, with a focus on sites within London and the Home Counties.”
