The New Homes and Communities division has grown significantly since it was set up in 2010 and its output is forecast to grow significantly in the next few years. Last year saw Countryside secure significant additions to its land bank, with 18 new development sites, with the potential to accommodate 2,300 new homes.
To support this growth and the increasing focus on Kent, Sussex and Surrey, the current Southern regional team, led by Managing Director, Iain McPherson, will be re-locating to new premises located at St John's House on Suffolk Way, conveniently located within the main town centre at Sevenoaks. It is expected that the team will double once established in the region.
Iain McPherson, Managing Director of New Homes and Communities South, at Countryside, comments: “This is a very exciting time for the New Homes and Communities division, and this relocation puts us in an ideal position to maximize our recent growth and manage the expansion of our operations south of the river.”
“We have a built up an enviable land bank in terms of its size, quality and planning status; an excellent forward sales position and a very sound financial base. With the quality and commitment of our people, this gives us a strong-footing to develop our reputation and continue our growth in the southern region.”
Major current developments by Countryside in the Southern region include St Mary’s Island and Horsted Park which are both located in Chatham, Kent and Wickhurst Green near Horsham, West Sussex a new community with nearly 1,000 new homes.
