The regeneration scheme aims to deliver:
Three Rivers District Council selected Countryside Properties as preferred bidder for the project in May 2015. Countryside is working in collaboration with Home Group, a leading provider of affordable housing, for the development. Countryside’s proposed designs for the redevelopment were exhibited at public consultation events last November. The planning application was made on 4 January 2016 with initial works due to commence later this year, subject to planning.
Ann Shaw, Leader of the Council said: “The Council is very pleased to have formally entered into contract with Countryside and Home Group and we are very much looking forward to working in collaboration to deliver the new high quality homes and shops that South Oxhey needs.”
Richard Cherry, Chief Executive of Countryside Properties’ Partnerships division said: “We are pleased to be working with Three Rivers District Council and Home Group on this exciting development. We have 30 years’ experience in local authority estate regeneration. Our vision is to create an integrated and well-designed new neighbourhood with high quality housing for South Oxhey, and we will do that in close partnership with the local community.”
Mark Henderson, Home Group chief executive, said: “It is great that the plans for South Oxhey are moving ahead and that we have forged a partnership focused on creating lasting change for the better for this community. Better standards of housing are desperately needed for local people and our plans will deliver that for hundreds of families.”
