Accompanied by representatives from Countryside and the HCA, the Mayor was taken on a tour of the popular new homes development. In April this year, the first phase of the scheme launched attracting record levels of interest and demand from home buyers. Since then momentum has continued at a pace to push on with the 575 new energy-efficient homes set within the site’s 200 acres of mature landscaped grounds.
On her visit, the Mayor of Chelmsford Councillor Patricia Hughes commented: “I am delighted to have been invited to meet with all those involved in the site and learn about the vision for this exciting project which is incredibly impressive and something the entire community can be proud of. Together, Countryside and the Homes and Community Agency have started to lay the foundations for a vibrant, valuable and integrated community, and a place people will be proud to call home for years to come.”
Chris Bladon, Managing Director of Countryside’s New Homes and Communities Eastern Region comments: “We are delighted to have had the opportunity to welcome the Mayor of Chelmsford Councillor Patricia Hughes to St Luke’s Park and give her a preview of what this new community will offer. With an extensive range of properties to suit a variety of buyers plus the new facilities and infrastructure, we believe the new community will be a thriving one, providing a premium new destination for the area.”
Mike Goulding, Senior Area Manager of HCA comments: “The successful partnership between the HCA and Countryside to develop St Luke’s Park is helping to ensure that the disused site grows into a sustainable community. The development is really taking shape and it was a great opportunity to show the Mayor the progress that has already been made.”
The show homes will be opened to the public in late July and include The Chestnut, an attractive five bedroom house with stylish kitchen, family/dining area with a separate formal living room opening onto the garden and the Mulberry, a luxurious five bedroom detached home with a generous master bedroom complete with fitted wardrobes and luxurious en suite. The Spruce, a stylish four bedroom detached home, which offers a well equipped kitchen opening onto a light filled family dining area will also be available to view. A further two show homes are set to open later in the year.
Residents at St Luke’s Park will be able to benefit from a wealth of amenities, including natural woodland walkways, a sensory landscape designed garden, a proposed new primary school and sympathetically restored Grade II Listed chapel; together with 2,800 sqm of commercial space including shops and a community centre.
Homes at St Luke’s Park include three, four and five bedroom detached residences built in a traditional style. Well designed to reflect the needs of modern-day families, the houses provide generous living and entertaining space and some boast separate home offices. Kitchens and bathrooms are contemporary in style, incorporating sleek fixtures and fittings.
