The developer, whose connection with the villages was formed with the creation of its popular Little Hollows development, donated wine, chocolates, sweets and rosettes for the winners of the competition which saw villagers competing to create the best scarecrows under the theme of “a right royal knees up”.
Chris Bladon, Managing Director of Countryside’s New Homes and Communities Eastern Region said: “We are happy to support a community group that works so tirelessly to create great events and fundraising opportunities for a village which so many of our new residents at Little Hollows will call home. It was great fun to see the creativity at work and the winning entries were well deserved; events like these help promote a real community feel which is especially important to home buyers today.”
This is just one of the events that the village hall committee arrange annually to raise funds for its ongoing maintenance.
Little Hollows, which comprises just 39 luxurious three, four and five bedroom homes in a peaceful enclave on the outskirts of Chelmsford, near the village of Chignal Smealey, has been met with high demand from homebuyers seeking a traditionally designed but highly specified home in a superb location. Sixteen new homes have already been purchased off-plan since the development first launched in March.
Each home at Little Hollows reflects Countryside’s highest standards of design and craftsmanship, and is designed to blend with the local vernacular. Internally, specification is high, with flexible open plan living space to suit the modern family’s needs. Individually designed kitchens boast a wide range of energy efficient integrated appliances, such as dishwasher and fridge/freezer with recycling bins also provided. Five bedroom homes also boast a wine chiller. Contemporary bathrooms continue the theme with sleek white sanitary ware and full height ceramic tiling to the shower area and heated chrome towel rails. Luxurious master bedrooms have fitted wardrobes and ensuites.
Outside, each home benefits from a garage, landscaped front garden and turfed rear garden, as well as access to open space at the heart of the development.
In addition to giving home buyers easy access to an abundance of beautiful green spaces, the scheme is also conveniently situated just 2.4 miles from Chelmsford city centre with its excellent facilities including two main shopping centres as well as a number of bars and restaurants. A swimming pool and ice skating rink offer further leisure opportunities. There are a number of well-respected schools in the area including two of the best performing grammar schools, King Edward VI Grammar school for Boys and Chelmsford County High School, for girls.
Commuters can enjoy excellent rail links into London from Chelmsford Railway Station just three miles from the development with journey times into London Liverpool Street in around 30 minutes. Chelmsford is also within a 15 minute drive of junction 28 of the M25 affording easy access to the national road network, whilst the A12, is also within easy reach. London Stansted is also within 30 minutes of Chelmsford for international and domestic flights.
