Greenwich Millennium Village is an inspirational joint venture development by Countryside and Taylor Wimpey in association with the Mayor of London. Continuing their support of the community growing at the village, the three partners donated edible treats, balloons and raffle prizes for the Big Lunch event.
The Big Lunch is an Eden Project initiative with the simple aim to get as many people as possible across the whole of the UK to have lunch with their neighbours annually, in an act of community, friendship and fun. Since starting in 2009, thousands of Big Lunches have taken place in all types of communities, with 2016 seeing the eighth official annual Big Lunch to be held at Greenwich Millennium Village.
Chris Bladon, Managing Director of Countryside’s New Homes and Communities Eastern Division comments: “The Big Lunch is a great initiative, which brings communities even closer together and the Residents’ Association at Greenwich Millennium Village do a wonderful job of organising this fun family event every year. The lunch sees residents new and old come together and build relationships, which is why we are proud to have created this wonderful community and continue to show our support for this event.”

“The biscuits provided went down a treat and the winner of the raffle was extremely happy with their hamper! We’d also like to thank our on-site nursery, Millennium Minis for being the main sponsor of this year’s event, without them none of it would have been possible.”
