Greenwich Millennium Village is delighted to sponsor the sails of six boats for the annual London Dinghy Regatta hosted by the Greenwich Yacht Club this Sunday 2nd October 2016. Greenwich Millennium Village, which is located beside the River Thames and adjoins the Greenwich Yacht Club, is a joint venture development by Countryside and Taylor Wimpey, supported by the Mayor of London.

London Dinghy Regatta Sets Sail with the Help of GMV

The London Dinghy regatta will take place on a series of courses marked out in the River Thames between the Thames Barrier and the Emirates Cable Car at the O2 Arena.  The club is expecting 50 entries in the regatta from Greenwich Yacht Club members and other clubs and sailing centres along the Thames.

Peter Willis, Director of GMV Limited comments: “We are delighted to support the Greenwich Yacht Club and wish them great success at their regatta.  We are pleased to be working with our neighbours at GMV and hope our residents can take full advantage of the wide range of facilities they have to offer.”

Steve Wilson, Commodore of Greenwich Yacht Club comments: “We are extremely grateful to GMV for their kind sponsorship of the sails.  We are looking forward to this weekend’s regatta and welcome our new neighbours at GMV to join us.”

GMV has been described as one of the most exciting and innovative residential neighbourhoods in Europe. The much-anticipated new phase of homes at Greenwich Millennium Village will be released to the market soon. Iverna Quay offers a stylish collection of contemporary apartments, maisonettes and überhaus™ situated behind the Greenwich Yacht Club overlooking the River Thames, as part of this popular and flourishing new waterside community on the Greenwich Peninsula.

Iverna Quay is a modern ten-storey building with striking exterior that complements its waterside setting and the surrounding architecture of the rest of the development. To reflect the area’s nautical heritage, the name Iverna comes from the beached Thames sailing barge that was used as the original clubhouse for the Greenwich Yacht Club, when it was founded in 1908. The apartments look out over the sailing boats of the yacht club and many of the homes have riverside views.

Greenwich Millennium Village offers an array of community facilities and a warm communal vibe, there is a village square with shops, hairdressers, Ayurveda spa, nursery, and the ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rated Millennium Primary School.  Residents at Greenwich Millennium Village can take advantage of a huge amount of green open space with landscaped courtyards, a 50 acre ecology park with two lakes and thriving wildlife, and a new eco play area.

Prices at GMV start from £399,995 for a one-bedroom apartment and from £499,995 for a two-bedroom apartment. Guide prices for Iverna Quay start from £425,000.  For further information about Greenwich Millennium Village, visit www.gmv.london call 020 8305 2712.
