Liverpool homebuyers are defying the odds as more young couples invest in new build homes at Countryside’s Queen Mary Place development, thanks to Help to Buy. Prices start at £145,950.

Help to Buy Shaves Years off The Average Age of First Time Buyers in Liverpool

As recent UK mortgage figures suggest that the average first time buyer is 35*, 23-year-old Josh Austin and 26-year-old Laura Leguen are celebrating the purchase of their first home together at Countryside’s Long Lane development.

SalesForce Developer Josh commented: “We knew that we wanted to buy this year, but we didn’t expect to find somewhere so quickly. We initially went to take a look around the development out of interest as we’re both local to the area, but we fell in love with the house as soon as we saw it. The quality and specification of the properties is unrivalled - you get so much for your money.”

The couple had planned to move abroad, however they decided that the independence of owning their own three-bedroom home would provide them with more security for their future.

“We’re both young and in good jobs, so buying a property seemed like a natural step and a smart investment for the future. We were very surprised by how quick the process was – three months after our initial viewing we were moving in! I thought the experience would be much more stressful, but the sales team has been fantastic in ensuring that everything went smoothly.”

Peter Vella, Regional Sales and Marketing Director at Countryside, added: “Owning a home gives people the opportunity to invest significantly in their future and it’s great to see young couples like Josh and Laura benefiting from the Help to Buy scheme.

“We’ve seen many young people in Liverpool come through the government initiative since its launch, which just serves as a testament to the opportunities and lifestyle that the city has to offer young professionals.”

Queen Mary Place is being built in partnership with Sigma and Liverpool City Council’s regeneration partnership, Regeneration Liverpool, as part of a wider vision to create a thriving sustainable community.

Open daily from 11am until 6pm, the Queen Mary Place Show Village is located at Queen Mary Way, off Long Lane, Liverpool, L9 6ER. For more information please visit www.queenmaryplace.co.uk or contact the sales team on Tel: 0151 601 4860.
