Countryside one of the UK’s leading homebuilders and housing provider Home Group are pleased to announce that Lidl UK GmbH is to open a new store in South Oxhey. The 1,747 sq m (18,880 sq ft) foodstore is part of the third phase of the £172m South Oxhey Initiative regeneration project, with construction to commence in 2020 and opening in 2022.
The South Oxhey Initiative is an 11 acre regeneration project in the heart of South Oxhey, near Watford, Hertfordshire. The regeneration will provide 514 new homes in a mix of private sale, shared ownership and affordable housing; as well as 5,109 sq m (55,000 sq ft) of retail and business space within a new public realm.

They have been selected based on their commitment to deliver a wide range of foods and household goods, including; extensive fresh produce, in-store bakeries and Lidl special offers. The retailer’s commitment to the scheme marks a very important moment in transforming the town centre. We will continue to work with Three Rivers District Council and Home Group to deliver the modernisation of South Oxhey and allow the community to thrive.”
