Summer is all about going outside in the fresh air and enjoying the parks available in your local area. Local parks offer a great range of activities, from relaxing with a book to organised runs and community fun days for you and your family to enjoy together. A large number of our developments provide stunning parklands and open spaces to be enjoyed this summer.

National Parks Week 24 – 30th July 2017 - By Liz Ball

Great Kneighton

Great Kneighton includes a stunning 120 acre country park known as Hobson’s Park, a two-phase project which is already home to a wide range of birds and wildlife thriving in the newly created woodland, ponds and bird reserve. The second phase will see the opening of an adventure play area, skate and BMX park. The idyllic Hobson’s Park is perfect for an evening walk, morning jog, or if you’re looking for something less taxing, bird watching or simply taking a book to relax with.

King’s Park

King’s Park is situated in Harold Wood, which takes its name from the stunning parkland surrounding the development. With local road names dating back to the Anglo-Saxon era, Harold Wood is embedded in history, at the heart of which is Harold Wood Park. Offering a huge array of sports facilities and open parkland perfect for picnicking, this unspoilt area on the outskirts of London can be enjoyed by all ages.

Beaulieu

Beaulieu has been designed to make the best use of the existing landscape as well as to provide over 176 acres of new parks and open spaces.  The first open space to be created at Beaulieu is “The Chase” park and gardens, perfect for summer days and evenings with the family, relaxing outdoors. Children can enjoy the exciting new adventure play area while the adults play a game of Petanque. The sensory gardens provide the perfect setting to relax and enjoy the sunshine; a retreat from the more active recreation areas. If you enjoy running, Chelmsford Central Park is just a ten minute drive from Beaulieu and offers a Parkrun event every Saturday morning, ideal for making new friends and joining the local community!

St Mary’s Island

At St Mary’s Island, all of the homes benefit from the green open space of the maritime dock. The ideal setting to set up a rounders game or enjoy an alfresco lunch, the surrounding open spaces offer a blissful dockside view. The three parks at St Mary’s Island offer amazing views over the River Medway towards Upnor Castle, making them the perfect setting to spend time with your family this summer.
