Huyton pupils were given an important lesson in health and safety by homebuilder Countryside, who paid a visit to Roby Park Primary School last week as part of its ongoing community safety initiative.

HUYTON SCHOOLCHILDREN GET A LESSON IN HEALTH AND SAFETY

Following the launch of its Wilson Chase development on Western Avenue, Countryside held an informative assembly at the nearby Eastern Road school to educate the local children on the dangers of live building sites, through the use of props and demonstrations.

Colin Murray, Associate Director of Health and Safety at Countryside, commented: “The safety of the local residents is of the utmost importance when it comes to building sites, which is why we host regular health and safety assemblies at primary schools that neighbour our developments.

“It’s vital that the community feels confident that we’re taking every possible step to ensure their safety and, through the use of props and Q&A sessions, we aim to made the schoolchildren aware of the serious underlying dangers involved with live building sites.”

Steven Hatton, Head Teacher of Roby Park Primary School, added: “We really appreciate Countryside taking the time to visit our school to educate the children on this important issue and the potential hazards that can arise. Children can be very curious so a building site could pique their interest, which means it’s important that they are aware of the dangers. We’re confident that they’re now equipped with that knowledge and will behave sensibly should they come across a building site.”

Located just one mile from Huyton Town Centre, Wilson Chase will comprise 289 beautifully designed three and four bedroom homes. 257 of which will be available for sale on the open market, through a number of home buying initiatives such as the Help to Buy scheme.
