COUNTRYSIDE OUTRANKS OTHER HOUSEBUILDERS ON THE JOB CROWD’S LIST OF TOP COMPANIES FOR GRADUATES

Countryside ranks in the top 50 companies on The Job Crowd’s 2018 list of best businesses for graduates to work for. Countryside is listed 43rd - outranking Berkeley Group (98th), Barratt Homes (93rd) Croudace Homes (68th) and Crest Nicholson (57th).

Countryside outranks other housebuilders on The Job Crowd’s list of Top Companies for Graduates

The Job Crowd platform started in 2011 and has since become something of a TripAdvisor for jobs. It offers a variety of products and services, from application and interview tips for students, to benchmark reports containing useful data for employers.

The Top Companies for Graduates list is based on thousands of anonymous company reviews from early career employees. These reviews take into account a number of different aspects of work, including management, work/life balance, career progression and company culture. This anonymous and independent review process is part of why we’re so pleased with our spot in the top 50.

At Countryside, we’re extremely proud of our graduate programme. The scheme first began in 1980, with Countryside Partnerships South CEO Graham Cherry being the first graduate to enter the programme.

Since then, we have worked hard to develop a comprehensive graduate programme. We recognise that choosing a new career can be difficult, so we offer applicants as much industry experience as possible during our two-year scheme. Our goal is for each graduate to experience all parts of the business, completing a total of six rotations through each of our different divisions. At the end of the programme, our graduates can choose a role that best suits them.

For instance, Liam d’Unienville, a graduate who recently celebrated his one-year anniversary at Countryside, said, “One of the most appealing things about the Countryside graduate scheme was the flexibility to experience different departments. This helped enormously as, going into the job, I wasn’t sure in which aspect of housebuilding or construction I was most interested.”

We are committed to ‘growing our own’ talent and last year Countryside employed more than 100 apprentices, graduates and management trainees. This commitment to helping graduates develop their careers is why it’s so rewarding to see Countryside outrank many other housebuilders for the 43rd place on The Job Crowd’s 2018 list.
